Eleanor is very well known for her messy, yet beautiful curls :)
It’s her trademark!
I’ve been messing around with my hair for a bit, trying to find an easy, safe way to do this without a curling wand, and still get a similar look. I think I have finally found a couple ways, and it literally causes no damage to your hair at all.
I’ve come up with two options. Both of these require you to either sleep with it in, or have many hours to get ready.
Option 1: A twisted braid. It’s really not much of a braid. Dampen your hair. You don’t want it dripping wet, or it won’t dry overnight. Part your hair wherever you like. Eleanor typically parts her hair in the middle, but not everyone looks good with a middle part. One you do this, pull your hair over your shoulders so none is in the back. (you should have a section on each side of your head). Then twist the two sections AWAY from your face, toward your back. After you do that, twist the sections together behind you as a “twisted braid”
It should look like this, but at the back of your head: http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/samanthafranz/default/twist-braid—large-msg-131897437699.jpg
If it is difficult for you to do it at the back of your head, you can do it at the side like the picture above.
This braid results in a kind of small, soft curls. They are not perfect, and they are more of a “twisted” curl rather than a full on curl, much like Eleanor’s.
Option 2: Fishtail braid.
This is the simpler of the two. It is just as simple as it sounds. You also do this overnight.
You simple do a fishtail braid with your hair slightly damp and leave it in overnight. When you wake up and take it out, you have soft, pretty waves.
I love both styles. If I’m planning on wearing something a little nicer the next day, I usually do option one. But for just about anything else, I do option two.
The best thing about both options is you don’t have to do your hair in the morning! :)
